Atlanta International School (AIS) camps offer an enriching summer experience filled with fun, new friends and opportunities to learn about the world and each other! Language camps in French, Spanish, German, Chinese and English as a Second Language (ESL) this year are available to campers of all skill levels. This is a great way to introduce your child to different cultures and broaden one's ability to communicate to people all over the world.

Just as well, active campers can participate in a variety of other camps, including old favorites such as Scientific World, Natural World and Filmmaking! Budding performers, who like to sing, dance and act, will love Camp Stardust, where campers stage a new production each week! We are pleased to announce the addition of new camps such as TechnoScience Fun, Minecraft, 3D Printing and Modeling Clay Creatures!
 
Atlanta International School summer camps offer programs for rising kindergarten students up to grade 12 and are located on the school’s campus in Buckhead. Before and aftercare are available for your convenience.

  • 3D Printing and CAD Creations

    Design, print and take home their own 3D design. Bring your child’s imagination to life with Dremel Idea Builder and Auto Desk Tinker CAD!
  • Amazing Athletes

    Amazing Athletes is a premier sports developmental and physical fitness program. Our action-packed curriculum and non-competitive group classes let children build confidence in a safe and fun environment while also building teamwork and good sportsmanship. For the Atlanta International Summer program, we will focus on two sports per day, covering 10 sports by the end of the week. We will work on fundamentals and mechanics, and have some fun playing games.
    Sports include: Tennis, Soccer, Hockey, Basketball, Golf, Lacrosse, Baseball, Football, Track, and Volleyball
  • Amigurumi

    Amigurumi is the Japanese craft of crocheting small stuffed animals. This craft became popular all over the world in the early 2000’s and has taken over the internet ever since. During camp students will learn crochet techniques and implementing these into creating their own amigurumi. Additionally, this area of craftsmanship targets a learner’s skills including patience and manual dexterity. Children will also get a chance to socialize with their peers to discover a common interest without using technology. Students will keep their creations for future inspirations.
  • Art Factory

    Our D-I-Y camp is for all you artsy- craftsy kids who love to express yourselves with one-of-a-kind masterpieces like canvas art, bead making, and watercolors. Find your inner artist and keep your creativity sharp this summer as we design many mementos to be treasured.
  • Art Safari

    Abrakadoodle and Lady Bird Johnson’s Wild Flower Center have joined together to create this special program for flower centers, botanical Art lessons focus upon the elements in a garden such as soil, plants and pollinators and artistic styles and techniques that lend themselves to a garden environment. Doodler students learn how to use a sketchbook while Mini Doodlers explore the tactile elements of garden life. This is a wonderful art and science program in which the art is all about this special environment!
  • Art Space Adventure

    Join us and blast off to an outer space adventure! Learn about the solar system, meteoroids, meteors and meteorites, constellations and much more. Find out why astronauts wear spacesuits and why telescopes are important tools. Create art that focuses on science, technology, engineering and math concepts. Explore fun art techniques, play games and make friends that are “out of this world”! All while we reach for the stars!
  • Basketball

    Olympian Debbie Miller-Palmore brings her Top of the Key Basketball skills instruction to Summer Camps at AIS. This is a 1-week training and clinics.
  • Best of the Best

    Does your child enjoy Wacky Weather, Slime Science, and MakerSpace Group Challenges? If so, this is the camp for you. The campers will take home slime, snow, and homemade ice cream. This is a hands-on camp week of launching rockets, making potions and scientific discovery.
  • Blast From the Past

    Blast off with us as we make volcanoes, rockets and pan for gold! Learn about dinosaurs and dig for fossils! Go on a mission to Mars with Ozobot!
  • Chess

    Learn Chess fundamentals and sophisticated tactics and strategies from international chess master Carolina Blanco. Regular, Blitz, Bughouse, Blindfolded, Giant Chess and many more different chess games will keep players innovating and on their toes!
  • Coding and Video Game Design

    Calling all engineers, inventors and programmers of tomorrow! Bricks4Kidz Coding and Video Game Design Boot Camp sends kids on a technological adventure, teaching them foundational coding skills in a fun medium of creating their very own video games. They will learn strategies to enhance their logic and problem-solving skills, as well as help them work toward becoming technological innovators of tomorrow! Our program offers a skill level progression of coding concepts, helping students progress through different stages of learning and practice through creating new and exciting video games throughout the semester. Students get to take home their very own video games at the end of the semester!
  • Comic Creations

    Do you have a knack for drawing? Do you like to write? We have the camp for you! Come join us as we explore the world of comics. We will learn about the different styles of cartooning, create new characters, and build a portfolio of your work.
  • Crime Scene Investigation

    Come behind the yellow crime scene tape as we use chemistry, physics, biology and earth science to solve our crimes. This is one great camp!
  • Doll House

    Learn how to make your own doll clothes, accessories and matching items for yourself . Campers will make matching pillows, dresses, headbands and more! This fun and fabulous camp is a summer favorite.
  • Early Adventures

    Do you ever wonder what it was like to live during the time of the great King Tut thousands of years ago? Or were curious about watching Narwhals at the Polar ice cap? This week, students will go to five fascinating destinations where they will pilot our space ship of the imagination and map out different stops on their activity-packed adventure. This Early Learners Camp has a particular focus on curiosity and imagination. Students will be engaged in multiple hands-on activities each day using the newest technology resources, and they will receive invaluable support and guidance from our team of instructors and lab assistants.
  • Early Roboticist

    Hey kids, ever wonder how robots work? Then this is the camp for you! This week you’ll become a roboticist and learn basic programming, coding and engineering to give you a foundation for future innovation. This Early Learners Camp has a particular focus on robotics and early engineering. Students will be engaged in multiple hands-on projects each day using the newest technology resources, and they will receive invaluable support and guidance from our team of instructors and lab assistants.
  • Eco Tiny Houses

    Our builders and architects will study eco-living, and then design and construct their own eco model house using a variety of nature and recycled materials.
  • Fantasy World

    The students will enter into the magic world of fairies, trolls and other magical creatures of their imagination as they become master’s of their own world with clay and recycled and natural organic materials to create their own unique piece and habitat.
  • Filmmaking

    Students work with professional filmmakers to learn the basics of filmmaking and work as a team to write a script, shoot their film, edit the footage and produce an original short film! Their movie will debut at a special screening for friends and family on the last day of class! 2-Week Camp During this production & post-production intensive 2-week camp, students will work together in small teams (i.e. 2-4 members) to produce and edit their own short film. During the first week, students will undergo in-depth equipment training with professional filmmakers. Trainings include: basic & advanced camera operations, lighting, and production management. While being trained, the students will be broken into their teams in order to develop their story based on short film scripts provided by the instructor. During the second week, the students will work in their groups to edit the footage into their final short film. The instructor will teach daily lessons about editing and style; visiting professional filmmakers will also provide presentations to the students. The second week ends with a Movie Screening for all parents & guests. Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro All film equipment and laptops provided All editing software provided
  • Flight School

    Students will learn to play Kerbal Space Program, using real physics and math skills to build and launch rockets that can survive the forces exerted onto spacecraft exiting our atmosphere. Discover hands-on engineering and technology as students learn about flight and drones. We will fly our stunt drones and program large drones to follow our flight patterns!
  • Food for Tiny Thoughts

    Healthy kids are happy kids! Help your children build a healthy, strong and fit approach to living. Empower them by giving them the knowledge to care for their mind and body from the start.
  • From Garden to Spoon

    Let’s get our hands dirty as we learn about gardening and food! Garden with us by making take home garden boxes with a variety of herbs and other accessories for your garden. Create some daily delicious treats with healthy foods! Toss in our special ingredient of nature based crafts and you have from garden to spoon camp!
  • Fun-gineers

    Fungineering is a camp designed to stimulate the mind through design and building. This camp will include creative challenges including a design challenge and survivor challenge!
  • Garden Art Safari

  • Goo, Gas, Great Balls of Fire

    Using a combination of science, LEGO Crazy Contraptions® and Technics® your child will build a Battle Top Spinner, a Tennessee Time Killer, and lots more! Have fun as they explore the exciting world of chemical reactions and make their own soda drink!
  • GOTR

    Camp GOTR by Girls on the Run provides a one-of-a-kind experience for rising 3rd through 5th grade girls to develop self-confidence and learn life skills they can use now and as they grow.  Girls will enjoy building friendships in a fun and inclusive setting that includes interactive games, being physically active and expressing creativity through arts and crafts and storytelling.
  • Green Thumb Club

    Catch a ladybug, chase a firefly and grow a garden…all while learning about nature and the world around us through stories, songs, art, exploration and imaginary play. Green Thumb Club campers will create nature based crafts through tactile activities and developmentally appropriate science investigations. It’s time to join the Green Thumb Club!
  • Heritage Language Camp

    Our Partial Immersion Heritage Language camp is designed for students that have shown interest in the language. The curriculum is built around inquiry- based STEAM experiences to expand oral communication, as well as exposure to reading and writing skills in accordance with campers individual needs. Through fun group projects, campers will become more familiar with the language and get to practice with peers. Our highly qualified and multicultural faculty are almost exclusively native speakers and have a passion for their language and culture.
  • Kaleidoscope's Got Talent

    Does your child enjoy drama, acting, telling jokes, music, dance or other types of performing arts? If so, here is the chance for everyone to be a star! Join us for an entire week of developing inner talents and discovering new ones!
  • Kids on the Run

    Run, run, run as fast as you can for a camp full of fitness and fun! Don’t let the name fool you, we will not just be running; we will play games, have team competitions and a whirlwind of fun! All while learning the benefits of fitness and healthy living.
  • Language Camps - Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, English as Second Language

    Atlanta International School's popular Language Camps help campers develop their second language skills at all skill levels. Our 2-week curriculum addresses all aspects of language: listening, speaking, writing, vocabulary, and most importantly, a lifelong interest in other cultures. Through fun group projects, campers will become more familiar with the language and get to practice with peers. Campers may also participate in sports, arts, theater, music and technology activities in English. Our highly qualified and multicultural faculty are almost exclusively native speakers and have a passion for their language and culture.
  • Let's Go Camping Art

    Let’s have camping fun without leaving the art room! This art camp takes us to an imaginary world where we will hike, build a campfire, create a nature tapestry and learn about wild animals. We will learn all about camping by mapping our campground, designing our own camping trailer and “collecting” bugs in a jar. We’ll use our imagination and explore painting, printing, collage, nature tapestry and other art media. We will have fun with camping games, creating cool art projects and making new friends—without real mosquitoes!
  • Math Munch

    Math Munch is for all budding mathematicians! We immerse the children in rich and multi-sensory activities using manipulatives and hands on activities to build your child’s math skill set. Through our activities students will learn about basic addition and subtraction, graphing, telling time, fractions, word problems and money.
  • Minecraft Architectural Design

    Students will learn about architectural engineering as they draw, design, and build their own buildings with LEGOS, then they will expand on those ideas and build their design on a much grander scale in Minecraft!
  • Minecraft Programming

    Let your child learn using their favorite game! Use Redstone to make trap doors, roller coasters, and automatic farms. Work as a team to plan a city and reach survivalist goals! Fills FAST!
  • Minecrafting Circuits and Cities

    Learn to program using the LUA scripting language in Minecraft with ComputerCraft! Learn about variables, functions, conditional statements, logic gates and more!
  • Mini Med School

    Is there a doctor in camp? Join us this summer as we bring Mini Med School to camp! Our little doctors will use stuffed animal patients to take blood pressure readings, give “stitches,” put on a cast and make their own first aid kit, all while learning lots about what doctors, dentists, EMTs and other medical professionals do on a daily basis. Join us in this fun filled camp.
  • Modeling Clay Creatures

    The children’s project will evolve from 2-D to 3-D, as they explore different types of clay and home-made doughs. Our young sculptors will be exposed to different techniques and work with a variety of tools to create what their imagination leads them to.
  • National Treasure

    Celebrate Independence Day with the ultimate treasure hunt. Unravel mysteries, crack clues, and decode ciphers to unlock the secrets to our nation’s history. Learn to solve a variety of complex coded puzzles as you delve deep into the symbols of our past. Who will be the first to claim the treasure?
  • Natural World - Ferocious Predators

    Hey Guys, Let’s get up-close and personal with predators. Students will learn about the importance of the food web by gaining knowledge of various keystone species and ecosystems. This Camp has a particular focus on science and teamwork. Students will be engaged in multiple hands-on activities each day using the newest technology resources, and they will receive invaluable support and guidance from our team of instructors and lab assistants.
  • Natural World - Microscopic World

    There’s an entire world of microscopic life just waiting to be explored, but too often we don’t pay attention to these wonders. In this edition of “The Natural World”, your child will see nature from a new perspective as we explore the small and tiny parts of biology that support life on earth. This Camp has a particular focus on natural science and collaboration. Students will be engaged in multiple hands-on activities each day using the newest technology resources, and they will receive invaluable support and guidance from our team of instructors and lab assistants.
  • Ninjago Lego Adventure

    Experience the world of Minecraft with LEGO® bricks in this fun summer camp! Kids will start by crafting their shelters and some of their favorite characters, mobs, critters and tools using LEGO® bricks. Students will face new challenges each day, building models and crafting key elements from the popular Minecraft game. Whether its Steve, Creeper, or any of the other popular characters, kids will get the chance to go on a mine craft adventure unlike any before! All campers will take home a custom-built mini- figure at the end of the week!
     
  • Orchestra

    This one week program is open to all violin, viola, cello and bass players in grades 1-8. Our focus will be on building ensemble skills, chamber music, and music theory. Students must have completed at least one year of private lessons and be proficient at reading music. Students provide their own instruments and AIS will provide any music necessary.
  • Repurposing Light

    This camp’s goal will be to develop the artistic skills of your children in the area of bead-waving and macramé. During camp, we will be using glass beads to craft a variety of handmade pieces from jewelry to 5D bead paintings. Students will keep their creations for future inspirations. Additionally, this area of craftsmanship targets a learner’s skills including patience and manual dexterity. Campers will also get a chance to socialize with their peers to discover a common interest without using technology.
  • Rugby Sevens - Contact

    Top Rugby has developed a youth curriculum full of games and skills inspired by rugby, leveraging the sport’s positive qualities to focus on multiple aspects of the child’s physical development and personal growth. In this camp players will learn the mechanics behind passing, catching and kicking balls. Through various activities and games each camper will learn how to play one on one and as a team. By the end of the week the child will leave with a developed skill set and better understanding of the sport.
    Half Day
    It is preferred for each camper to bring their own tennis shoes/cleats and mouth guards.
  • Rugby Touch - No Contact

    Top Rugby has developed a youth curriculum full of games and skills inspired by rugby, leveraging the sport’s positive qualities to focus on multiple aspects of the child’s physical development and personal growth. In this camp players will learn the mechanics behind passing, catching and kicking balls. Through various activities and games, each camper will learn how to play one on one and as a team. By the end of the week, the child will leave with a developed skill set and better understanding of the sport.
    It is preferred for each camper to bring their own tennis shoes/cleats.
  • Scientific World - 3D Printing

    3D Printing is quickly becoming a mainstream technology with a potential to shape the future. During this Camp, Boy and Girls will learn the fundamentals of 3D Modeling and 3D Printing, and will take home their finest Creations. This Camp has a particular focus on technology and design. Students will be engaged in multiple hands-on projects each day using the newest technology resources, and they will receive invaluable support and guidance from our team of instructors and lab assistants.
  • Scientific World - Robotics

    Danger Will Robinson! We’ll be programming different types of robots to do so many things. This camp will provide your child with a foundational understanding of robotics with a particular emphasis on engineering and programming. Students will be engaged in multiple hands-on activities each day using the newest technology resources, and they will receive invaluable support and guidance from our team of instructors and lab assistants.
  • Scientific World - Space Adventurers

    Hello Space Cadets! Let's become virtual astronauts and explore the solar system. During this camp, we will share information about the most recent NASA missions. Students will gain knowledge on the awesome technologies used to explore space and learn about the latest breath-taking discoveries. This camp has a particular emphasis on technology and leadership. Students will be engaged in multiple hands-on activities each day using the newest technology resources, and they will receive invaluable support and guidance from our team of instructors and lab assistants.
  • Scientific World- GEMS Girls in Engineering, Math and Science

    Hey Girls! Do you have what it takes to be one of our GEMS? This camp is about helping girls gain confidence in the STEM fields so they can be competitive in the 21st century. During this Camp, girls will learn about various STEM fields as they take part in a variety of activities tailored to them! This Camp has a particular focus on engineering and design. Students will be engaged in multiple hands-on projects each day using the newest technology resources, and they will receive invaluable support and guidance from our team of instructors and lab assistants.
  • Sew Fun

    Learn how to create wearable and functional items while using a sewing machine! Our daily projects include a drawstring bag, flip flop design, pajama shorts, sleeping mask, unicorn pillow, doll clothes, stuffed animals, jewelry design and do it yourself crafts. Campers will also learn how to repurpose clothing into various items.
  • Space is the Place

    Space Explorers join us this week for space exploration! This week will explore all things that make outer space so cool! Rockets, simulated launches, astronaut "training" and more!
  • Spies and Sleuths

    Students will learn about electricity as they create alarms, use microscopes as they analyze fingerprints, hairs and fibers; solve crime scenes using chemical reactions, biology and physical analysis! This is great fun and builds analytical thinking.
  • Star Wars LEGO Adventures

    Join us on an adventurous journey through space! Build a rocket to blast through the atmosphere into a realm that is truly out of this world. Build a world where rebels and the dark side start epic battles. We'll build motorized models that represent spacecraft from your favorite popular space movie. We will also learn a lot about space along the way. Students will learn important STEM concepts and gain important hands-on problem solving skills while developing their creativity, confidence and excitement for STEM. Come experience this stellar journey to a galaxy far away! All campers will take home a custom-built mini-figure at the end of the week!
  • Stardust

    Camp Stardust is back for their 9th annual summer of dramatic fun at AIS! Each week campers work with a choreographer, music director, acting coach and other professionals to create a weekly musical theatre performance. Past camp performances have included selections from such popular musicals as High School Musical and The Lion King. In addition to building strong musical theatre skills with our professional instructors, the students’ coordination, stage presence and rehearsal techniques will be enhanced as well. Students may enroll for one or both offered weeks. Space is limited and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Study Skills

    Middle school can be an exciting, but challenging time for students. Get rid of the blocks to learning and get organized! Learn effective ways to read texts and discover tricks to understand what your teacher is thinking. Take the stress and anxiety out of test taking. Figure out how to keep all your materials in the correct place. You will learn how to use time more effectively and grow into an active learner. Clear the path to better grades and set goals. Develop quick and accurate typing skills in this practical computer course. Daily lessons will include techniques, drill to improve accuracy, and tutorials on how to stay organized with Google. Activities for beginner or advanced computer-users make this a valuable experience in preparing for the next step in every student’s career.It’s time for a great start to the new school year in Grade 6!
  • TechnoScience Fun

    Learn drop and drag programming. Build motorized machines and structures using LEGO® technology. Understand forces and structural strength as we build bridges from gumdrops and more. Build cartesian diver submarines as we learn about physical forces of water and air. Explore magnets and magic beads. Every day will be filled with new and exciting adventures!
  • Through the Looping Glass

  • Whiz Kids

    Join us on a scientific discovery mission! We will explore the world of science through everyday objects, experiments and encounters. This camp will enhance the STEM education philosophies with a big punch of fun. Physics, biology, chemistry, geology, astronomy and zoology will all be covered in the camp.
  • Wild and Wacky Science Week

    Does your child enjoy Wacky Weather, Slime Science, and MakerSpace Group Challenges? If so, this is the camp for you. The campers will take home slime, snow, and homemade ice cream. This is a hands-on camp week of launching rockets, making potions and scientific discovery.
  • Wood and Tinkering

    This Makers/Tinker camp is designed to teach children practical woodworking skills as they convert wood into art pieces. We encourage them to think out of the “tool box” with an artistic twist. All skill levels welcome.
  • World of Wizards

    Calling all wizard fans! This is like no other camp you have experienced. We will take a magical journey into the world of wizards. We will design wands, make magic potions, go on a magical creature hunt, play Quidditch, and participate in activities that will astound all Muggles.
  • World Travel 3D Art

    Travel with us on this creative journey and change the way you see the world! Create 3D masterpieces inspired by world cultures. Learn about Chinese ceramics, Croatian “licitar” hearts, Maori design carvings from New Zealand, “nicho” boxes from Mexico and much more. Create art using a variety of materials, play games and understand that through art we can connect with people from all over the world.
