Diwali - The Hindu Festival of Lights

This year the Parent Organization Asian Culture Club (ACC) celebrated Diwali* on Friday, November 3 and organized popular activities for guests to enjoy.

Decorated with vases, diyas and lit candles, the Auditorium was a colorful market with a variety of arts and crafts stations, a photo booth and tasteful Indian food. The Primary School Chorus and a Middle School Ensemble sang and played traditional Indian music while other students danced. The afternoon concluded with a fashion show featuring AIS faculty and staff escorted by Primary School students, all dressed in traditional Indian attire.

*Diwali, known as the festival of lights, is a Hindu festival celebrated every fall. This holiday symbolizes the good defeating the evil by shining light over darkness.
