Safety Guidelines for all Carpools

  1. Carpool numbers for ELC and Primary School must be clearly displayed on all cars. If you require additional numbers for your household, contact the Primary School office and they can assign you them.
  2. No cell phone use allowed in carpool lane.
  3. Staff will be onsite to direct traffic. Please observe and respect the directions given by the staff on duty.
  4. Please abide by all posted signage at all times.
  5. For those students being dropped off at the Peachtree Ave Carpool: All 5K – Grade 2 students MUST be accompanied by an older sibling to Primary School. We strongly recommend Grade 3 through 5 students are escorted as well.
  6. If you have an appointment at AIS and need to park, please drop off your child(ren) first then park in an available visitor parking space in front of the Secondary School. Enter the Secondary School Building to check-in.
  7. The Playground may not be used during carpool hours.
  8. Students must be dropped-off in the designated area only to avoid unsafe conditions.
  9. For parents walking their child(ren) to and from buildings, please use the designated crosswalks.
  10. Students should be unloaded on the passenger side of the vehicle.
  11. Students must be prepared to quickly exit the vehicle, with jackets on and backpacks nearby, not in the trunk.
  12. Parents must remain in the car during pickup or drop-off.

  • ELC Morning

    Morning Carpool for the Early Learning Center (ELC)

    WHO: Early Learning Center Students in 3K and 4K

    TIME: 7:40 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. (Please note: there aren't any staff on duty until 7:40 a.m.)

    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ELC RULES:
    1. All ELC students must be dropped off in the carpool lane directly in front of the ELC building or escorted in by a parent or guardian.
    2. Designated visitor parking for ELC parents is at the lot adjacent to the ELC, or along Peachtree Avenue. Parking in “Permit Only” zones may result in towing.
    3. All cars must exit as a right turn onto Peachtree Ave. No left turns will be permitted.
    4. Drop off Primary or Secondary School students first before dropping off at the ELC.
    5. ELC students are unloaded on the right side of the vehicle. If your child is sitting on the left and you do not have any other children on the right, then children will slide over and exit on the right. If you have another child sitting on the right, then an ELC faculty member will safely escort your child behind your vehicle. THIS IS A NO PASSING ZONE FOR ALL VEHICLES.
    6. Children must be prepared to quickly exit the vehicle, with jackets on and backpacks nearby, not in the trunk. Parents are asked to remain in their vehicle during carpool, ELC faculty will help your child out of the car.
    7. The parking spaces in front of the ELC are not for use during carpool hours.
    8. Visitor parking in front of the ELC is available between 8:20 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.. On half days, parking is available until 11:00 a.m..
    9. Any parent arriving to drop-off after 8:20 a.m. must park in a designated visitor parking area and walk their child(ren) into the reception area to register attendance. The doors are locked each morning at 8:20 a.m.. Reception will escort children into their classrooms.
    10. If you park along a surface street, do not block any driveways or your car may be towed.
  • ELC Afternoon

    Afternoon Carpool for the Early Learning Center (ELC)

    WHO: Early Learning Center Students in 3K and 4K

    TIME:
    • For students WITHOUT AIS siblings in older grades, ELC carpool is from 2:30 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.
    • For students WITH AIS siblings in older grades, ELC carpool is from 2:40 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

    Parents picking up during the first carpool (2:30 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.) must park in designated visitor parking and walk in to pick up their child(ren).
    Parents picking up during the second carpool (2:40 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.) must drive through the carpool pickup lane to pick up their child(ren) from the front door. AIS faculty will escort children to the appropriate car from the front door.

    HALF DAYS: ELC students are released at 11:30 a.m. From 11:30 – 11:35 a.m. families can walk to the classroom to pick up their child. At 11:35 a.m. all remaining students will be brought to the multi-purpose room (MPR). Children can be picked up from the MPR for those without older siblings and all other students with siblings can either walk in or drive up. Carpool ends at 11:50 a.m.

    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ELC RULES:
    1. All ELC students must be dropped off in the carpool lane directly in front of the ELC building or escorted in by a parent or guardian.

    4. There is no early release of ELC students in the last 30 minutes of school. Any ELC student needing to leave early must be collected by 2:00 p.m. Thereafter, students will be required to go through carpool.
    5. If possible, have your ELC child’s car seat on the passenger side of the car for quicker loading.
    6. Visitor parking in front of the ELC is available between 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. each day. On half days, parking is available until 11:00 a.m.
    7. If you park along a surface street, do not block any driveways or your car may be towed.
    8. To minimize congestion, you may not queue earlier than 5 minutes before carpool begins. If you arrive earlier, you will be asked to leave and return 5 minutes before carpool starts.
  • Primary 5K - Grade 5 Morning

    North Fulton Drive Carpool

    WHO:  Students Grades 5K-5 without siblings in Grades 6-12

    TIME:  Morning from 7:40 a.m. to 8:20 a.m.

    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PS RULES:
    1. Parents may not enter through the PS gate during carpool. Access through the PS gate will only be granted to students, parents, or families who need special assistance.
    2. For Late Arrivals: The PS gate is open for student access only during carpool hours. The gate locks after 8:20 and only those needing special assistance are given access after that time. You must enter through the Secondary School lobby if dropping off after carpool and escort your child to the Primary School office to register attendance.
    ROUTE:
    This route is entered as a right turn from North Fulton Drive ONLY and exited straight or as a right turn onto Delmont Drive, except for those parents with students in the ELC. For those turning onto Delmont, continue around the rear of the school and bear left onto Sheridan to Peachtree Road.
     
    Peachtree Avenue Carpool

    WHO:  Students Grades 5K-5 with siblings in Grades 6-12

    TIME:  Morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:20 a.m.

    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ELC RULES:
    1. Please do not drop off students prior to 7:30 a.m., the doors are locked before 7:30 a.m.
    2. Students will be dropped off / picked up along the drive at the ASD building, on Peachtree Avenue. Students will be permitted to enter the lobby of the ASD to access campus.
    3. All Primary School students should be dropped off / picked up with their older Secondary School siblings.
    ROUTE:
    This route is entered from Peachtree Road onto Delmont Drive and exited onto Peachtree Avenue. Student drop off should only occur in the zone indicated on the carpool map.
     
  • Primary 5K - Grade 5 Afternoon

    North Fulton Carpool

    WHO: Students in Grades 5K-2 with siblings in Grades 3-5 and/or Grades 6-12

    TIME:  
    • 3:00 p.m. until 3:20 p.m.
    • Half Days 11:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING PS RULES:
    1. There is no early release of Primary School students in the last 30 minutes of school.
    2. Any child not picked up by 3:20 p.m. will be escorted to Kaleidoscope and must be picked up there.
    3. In order to minimize congestion, you may not queue before 3:00 p.m.. If you arrive earlier, you will be asked to leave and return at 3:00 p.m.
    4. All 5K through Grade 5 families with Secondary School students must use the Cafeteria Carpool (CC) for afternoon carpool. See CC guidelines for more information.
    ROUTE:
    This route is entered as a right turn from North Fulton Drive ONLY and exited straight or as a right turn onto Delmont Drive, except for those parents with students in the ELC. For those turning onto Delmont, continue around the rear of the school and bear left onto Sheridan to Peachtree Road.
     
    Peachtree Ave Carpool

    WHO: Students in Grades 3-5 without siblings in Grades K-2 or 6-12

    TIME:  
    • 3:00 p.m. until 3:20 p.m.
    • Half Days 11:50 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING RULES:
    1. There is no early release of Primary School students in the last 30 minutes of school.

  • Cafeteria Carpool

    AIS Cafeteria Carpool (CC)

    WHO: CC is for students in Primary and Secondary School Grades 5K-12. All PS families with SS students should use Cafeteria Carpool for afternoon pick-up.

    TIME:   3:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Afternoon Only)

    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CC RULES:
    1. For any change in carpool for your Secondary School (SS) student (absent, field trip, etc.) please notify the Primary School (PS) office no later than 1:00 p.m. on the day that the student is absent.
    2. Cafeteria Carpool users MUST have a “C” Carpool number on their windshield. Only families with a C sticker may use Cafeteria carpool. If using another car or another person is picking up your student, please place a paper sign with the carpool number on the dashboard.
    3. There is no parking on North Fulton Drive or Delmont Drive adjacent to our campus during afternoon carpool.
    4. There is no left turn on North Fulton allowed during carpool hours unless you are picking up children at the ELC.
    ROUTE: This route is entered as a right turn from North Fulton Drive ONLY and exited straight or as a right turn onto Delmont Drive, except for those parents with students in the ELC. For those turning onto Delmont, continue around the rear of the school and bear left onto Sheridan to Peachtree Road.
  • Secondary School Morning & Afternoon

    AIS Morning and Afternoon Carpool for Grades 6-12

    Peachtree Ave Carpool

    WHO: Students Grades 6-12

    TIME:  
    • Morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:05 a.m.
    • Afternoon from 3:45 p.m. until 4:15 p.m.
    • Late Start Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.
    • Half Day Release from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING RULES:
    1. Please drop your child only at designated areas, not along any streets. Designated drop-off areas are indicated on the carpool map.
    2. In order to minimize congestion, you may not queue any earlier than 5 minutes before carpool begins. If you arrive earlier, you will be asked to leave and return 5 minutes before carpool starts.
    3. The school doors are locked each morning until 7:30 a.m. Please do not drop off students prior to this.
    4. Students will be dropped off / picked up along the drive at the ASD building, on Peachtree Avenue. Students will be permitted to enter the lobby of the ASD to access campus.
    5. If you have an appointment at AIS and need to park, please drop off your child(ren) first then park in an available visitor parking space. Visitor parking is available between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day in front of the Secondary School.
    ROUTE: This route is entered from Delmont Drive and exited onto Peachtree Avenue. Student drop off should only occur in the zone indicated on the carpool map.
