Kevin Glass, Headmaster

Committed to creating globally-minded students poised to shape the 21st century, Kevin’s vocation and calling is international education. His career in education includes leadership and teaching positions in South and West Africa, Central and North America, and Central Asia. Prior to joining Atlanta International School, Kevin served as Director of Tashkent International School in Uzbekistan for five years.

Kevin serves on various local, national and international Boards, including the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE), the Academy for International School Heads (AISH), the Center for the Advancement and Study of International Education (CASIE), Horizons Atlanta, the Atlanta Area Association in Independent Schools (AAAIS) and the Buckhead Coalition.

Kevin has a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Framingham State College (USA), a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Biology and Chemistry from Cambridge University (UK), and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Degree in Bacteriology and Virology from Manchester University (UK).  

Kevin is married to Stefani, a career diplomat currently on family leave from the German Foreign Service. They have three children (Liam, Lilly and Leanne) all of whom attend AIS in the German track.

Camille Du Aime, Head of Primary School

Camille grew up overseas in Germany, France and Spain where she attended both local and international schools. Because of this, she speaks multiple languages and has a ‘third culture kid’ perspective which helps her empathize with students and mobile parents.

She has taught at international schools in Bali, Paris and Stuttgart. She was principal of the United Nations International School in Hanoi, Vietnam and at the Berlin Brandenburg International School in Germany. Her curriculum experience with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBPYP) began in 1993 when she helped pilot the precursor to the PYP.   

Camille holds a Bachelor of Arts in European Cultural Studies from the American University of Paris (France) and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Michigan State University (USA).

Sandy MacKenzie, Head of Secondary School

Prior to joining AIS, Sandy, a UK citizen from Scotland, was the Head of Senior School at Dulwich College Shanghai. AIS is the fourth 3K-12 school in which he has worked in a leadership capacity.

Sandy has published articles in the International Schools Journal and co-authored Mathematics for Higher Level for the IB Diploma (Oxford University Press). He is an examiner for HL Mathematics and has taught both MYP and Diploma Mathematics.  

Sandy holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Management from the University of Glasgow (UK), a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from the University of Edinburgh (UK), and a Master of Education in Leadership and Management from Open University (UK).

Reid Mizell, Head of Admissions, Marketing and Financial Aid

One of the founding board members of the school, Reid brings extensive expertise in brand development, marketing strategy and planning, strategic alliances, sponsorship and integrated marketing execution.

She began her consulting career developing export marketing programs for French and American firms. She honed her organizational leadership skills as VP of Marketing for a US technology firm and as CEO of marketing agencies in the U.S. and Australia.
 
Reid holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Emory University (USA) as well as a Bachelor of Arts in French and a Master of Business Administration in International Marketing from Georgia State University (USA). She spent one year of graduate study in the Marketing Group at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (France).

Kendyl Moss, Head of Development

With over 15 years of experience in building relationships across the Atlanta civic, business and philanthropic communities, Kendyl brings an extensive background which includes growing non-profit community initiatives, special events, youth programming, event marketing as well as sponsorship and donations.

Kendyl has worked in collegiate and professional athletics, respectively. She has served as the Assistant Director of the Men's Basketball Championship and Final Four for the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and most recently as the Vice-President of Community Relations for the Atlanta Falcons.
 
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from the University of Texas (USA) as a Division I collegiate track and field student-athlete and a Master of Arts in Corporate Communications from DePaul University (USA).



Shelley Paul, Head of Research and Learning Design

Shelley has 20 years of experience in independent K-12 education, instructional technology, instructional design and learning innovation. As a certified trainer in the Collaborative Operating System, she brings a unique background and skill set in collaborative leadership and process facilitation to AIS.

Shelley is a Stanford school-trained Design Thinker, leading teams in using design thinking as an approach to innovative, empathy-driven problem-solving in school communities. She has served a mentor for the Atlanta K12 Design Challenge since 2013.

Shelley holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida State University (USA), a Master’s in English Education from the University of Florida (USA) and Master’s in Library Media Technology from Georgia State University (USA).

Paul Saeger, Head of Operations and Finance

Paul brings a depth and breadth of experience to AIS that encompasses 28 years as a professional and manager in accounting, finance, cash management, investments and analysis.  

Paul worked with Stonewall Insurance Company for 15 years, quickly rising from Junior Accountant to Officer to Treasurer in ten years. More recently, he served as the Senior Financial Manager for the Vesta insurance companies.

Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Accounting from the University of Alabama, Birmingham (USA). He earned his CPA in 1990.

School Leadership

Tambi Tyler, Upper School Principal

Tambi joins AIS from Des Moines, Iowa, where she served with Des Moines Public Schools for over 18 years. Over the course of these 18 years, she held multiple leadership roles, such as Teacher, Dean, School Improvement Leader, Interim Human Resources Director and Vice Principal.

Tambi holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Grand View University (USA) and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Drake University (USA). She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree with the University of Northern Iowa (USA).



Kevin Onabiyi, Middle School Principal

Kevin is a UK citizen of Nigerian heritage. He served as one of the UK National Leaders for Teaching and Learning. His twelve-year career at Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in London included founding and mentoring the school’s student council, developing roles and responsibilities for heads of years, and supporting students with a range of pastoral needs.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Surrey (UK); a PGCE from the University of London (UK); and a Master of Arts from London Metropolitan University (UK).



Alain Poiraud, Upper Primary School Principal

Between 1986 and 1993, Alain worked in France and also taught French in a pilot immersion program in Louisiana. Alain joined Atlanta International School in 1993.

Alain holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a teaching certification from the École Normale de la Roche-sur-Yon (France). He also has a National Coaching Degree (BE 1er degree) from the University of Nantes (France).  

From the University of Caen, France, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in French as a Foreign Language and is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in International Education Administration.


Lynda Sarelius, Lower Primary School Principal

Lynda is Australian and joins us from Vienna International School, Austria where she served as the Deputy Principal of the Primary School.

Prior to the eight years in Vienna, Lynda taught in the public school system in Australia for 13 years. She held senior teacher and assistant principal roles and taught classes from 5K through to grade 7. Lynda was awarded the recognition of Teacher of Exemplary Practice and was nominated by parents for the National Excellence in Teaching Award in Australia.

She holds a Diploma of Teaching, a Bachelor in Education, Masters of Education (Leadership and Management) and a certificate in International School Leadership from the Principal’s Training Centre, London (UK).

Maria Voutos, Early Learning Center Principal

Maria joined AIS in 2012 for the opening of the Early Learning Center. She is a Canadian citizen of Greek heritage, and was born and raised in Montreal, Québec.

Maria has taught and coordinated Early Childhood programs at international schools in Asia, including South Korea, China and Thailand. While she has taught across the primary grades, her heart lies with early childhood education.

In addition to an Honors Diploma of Collegial studies in Early Childhood Education and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Concordia University in Montreal, Québec, Maria holds a Master of International Education from Framingham State College.
