    Atlanta International School is an International Baccalaureate World School (IB) authorized to offer the full continuum of IB programs from 3K-grade 12. Offered by more than 4,000 schools worldwide, the IB is known for its academic rigor and emphasis on students’ intellectual, personal, emotional and social development. IB graduates typically enjoy higher acceptance rates at top universities; receive higher starting salaries than their non-IB peers; and have higher average earnings over the course of their careers.

    AIS is accredited by AdvancED, a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site school quality reviews of Pre-K through 12 schools and school systems to help educators and their communities ensure that all learners realize their full potential.  AdvancED is also committed to helping schools improve and serves as a trusted partner to over 34,000 schools and school systems across the United States and 71 other nations.
  • Agency of French Teaching Abroad

    AIS is accredited by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), a government institution supervised by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs that monitors and manages the network of French schools abroad. AEFE plays a key role in expanding France’s cultural and linguistic influence throughout the world and serves to boost the appeal of French higher education.
  • Council for International Schools

    AIS is accredited by the Council for International Schools (CIS), a membership community working collaboratively to shape international education through professional services to schools, higher education institutions and individuals. The CIS vision is to inspire the development of global citizens through high quality international education: connecting ideas, cultures and educators from every corner of the world.
  • Association for the Advancement of International Education

    AIS is a member of the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE), a global community that connects diverse people, ideas and resources. AAIE helps international educators lead with vision, wisdom and integrity.
  • European Council for International Schools (ECIS)

    AIS is a member of the European Council for International Schools (ECIS). Founded in 1965 and headquartered in Europe, ECIS is a non-profit global membership organization that provides professional learning, research, advocacy and funding for the benefit of its members, which include early stage through mature international and internationally-minded schools, higher education institutions, organizations that support education through their products and services, and individuals who are internationally-minded in their outlook and practice.
  • French Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research

    AIS is accredited by The French Ministry of National Education, of Higher Learning and of Research (MENESR).
  • PASCH Schools: Partners for the Future Initiative

    AIS is a partner with PASCH.  In February 2008, Germany’s Federal Foreign Office launched the "Schools: Partners for the Future" (PASCH) initiative, which strengthens and connects a worldwide network of more than 1,800 partnerships with a special commitment to Germany. The initiative is intended to arouse lasting interest and enthusiasm for modern Germany and the German language - particularly in the main regions of Asia, the Middle East and Central and Eastern Europe.
  • Southern Association of Independent Schools

    AIS is accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), a membership organization of independent K-12 schools. The mission of SAIS is to strengthen member schools by providing high quality accreditation processes, comprehensive professional growth opportunities, and visionary leadership development programs.

  • Association of the French Schools in North America (AFSA)

    AIS is a member of the Association of the French Schools in North America (AFSA), an organization of elementary and secondary schools in the United States and Canada, all of which are accredited by the French Ministry of National Education. AFSA’s member schools educate bilingual, bicultural students, whose academic excellence prepares them for entrance to the finest European and North American universities. There are currently 50 AFSA schools throughout the US and Canada.
  • Atlanta Area Association of Independent School (AAAIS)

    AIS is a member of the Atlanta Area Association of Independent School (AAAIS).  Made up of nearly 70 private-independent schools in the Atlanta metro area, AAAIS is the only professional organization of accredited independent schools dedicated to the Atlanta metro area that promotes the highest standards and best administrative practices for the benefit of its schools and the families and students they serve.
  • Center for the Advancement and Study of International Education (CASIE)

    AIS is a partner of the Center for the Advancement and Study of International Education (CASIE).  Created in the fall of 1999 at Atlanta International School by a group of trustees and educators, CASIE is a non-profit organization that promotes multi-language programs, the International Baccalaureate, and international understanding in K-12 schools in the United States and abroad. CASIE aims to strengthen the U.S. education system as it readies students for a more competitive global economy by equipping them with a broader world view and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Georgia High School Sports Associations (GHSA)

    AIS is a member of the Georgia High School Sports Association (GHSA), a voluntary organization composed of over 450 public and private high schools. Its objective is to promote education in Georgia from a mental, physical and moral viewpoint; to standardize and encourage participation in athletics; and to promote sportsmanship and an appreciation for and study of music, speech, and other fine arts through Region and State competitions.
  • Georgia Independent School Association (GISA)

    AIS is a member of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA), a non-profit association of private, independent, and parochial schools throughout the state. The mission of GISA is to advance excellence and collaboration among Georgia’s independent schools by serving the professional growth, advocacy and interscholastic needs of member schools. Each member school is unique, while sharing a unified commitment to overall excellence as well as to the nurture and care of the physical, intellectual, social and moral development of all students.
  • Mission Laïque Française (MLF)

    AIS is a network member of Mission Laïque Française. Founded in 1902 and headquartered in Paris, Mission Laïque Française aims to spread the French language and culture throughout the world, especially through secular and intercultural education. Its duration is unlimited.

    AIS is a member of the Principals’ Training Center (PTC), an organization which serves the unique professional development needs of practicing and aspiring principals, teachers, counselors and school business leaders in international schools worldwide. We strive to provide world class, research-driven practical training, designed to be put into practice in the international school setting.
