Atlanta International School (AIS) is an intentionally inclusive community, and as such, AIS is committed to managing tuition and providing need-based financial aid to make the school accessible to more students and families. AIS is also a nonprofit school and as such is recognized by the United States as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
Much like other nonprofit universities, colleges and schools in the United States, AIS’s financial model sets tuition deliberately below the cost of educating a student. To fill the gap between the actual cost of educating students and income from tuition alone, just like other nonprofit universities, colleges and schools, AIS must raise annual operating funds.
At AIS, the main sources of income beyond tuition include: The Eagles Fund, our annual giving program; Georgia GOAL, a state tax-credit program for need-based financial aid funds; and the Spring Benefit, our annual globally-themed gala and auction event. From time to time as capital and infrastructure needs arise, AIS will implement special capital fundraising campaigns.
Ultimately, all funds that are raised outside of tuition and fees allow AIS the financial flexibility to be intentionally inclusive and operate with a balanced budget. And, all donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
