Community

An intercultural and intentionally inclusive community

The community at Atlanta International School creates a very special learning environment for our students and their families.
Founded in 1984, by those who believed that Atlanta needed a different kind of schoolAIS is different by design. While around 50% of our families are from here in Atlanta or the US, this is a community of families, students, faculty and staff representing more than 90 nationalities and over 60 languages.

We believe that an inclusive community of individuals from many backgrounds — socio-economic, ethnic, racial, linguistic, national, political, religious and sexual orientation or identity — provides a setting where our students can develop a global mindset and respect and understanding for others. This community, our languages for all approach and the International Baccalaureate curriculum, give students the best place to thrive, innovate and belong.

And our network extends far beyond the school campus and the years spent in school. We have engaged and supportive alumni all across the world.

Local Connection

We enjoy many community partnerships in the local area and beyond, with those including the High Museum, National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Horizons Atlanta, Garden Hills Elementary, and numerous others.

Parent Partnership

The Parent Organization (PO) at Atlanta International School is a vibrant, welcoming and dedicated group - which every family is automatically a part of.

With its wide array of different ways for everyone to get involved, meet new friends, support those joining us and make meaningful connections, the PO is there for you.
