Bringing Learning to Life Outside the Classroom

At Atlanta International School, we continually ask ourselves, “How do we best prepare our students for the world outside of AIS?”

The answer lies not only in our International Baccalaureate framework, but also in the numerous learning opportunities we offer outside of the classroom.

In addition to internships that many students complete as part of a STEM or STEAM Diploma Endorsement, students participate in many other activities, including Global and Experiential Learning, Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and After School Activities.

Athletics

At Atlanta International School, representing the AIS Eagles Community on the field, the court, or wherever the competition takes place is a huge source of pride for our students.

Our Junior Varsity (JV) and Varsity teams are governed by the Georgia High School Association.

In addition to our Athletics programs, students in Grades 9 -10 also take regular Physical Health Education classes as part of the IB curriculum.

Exploring the US and Beyond

AIS boarding students have opportunities to extend learning way beyond the classroom.

Exploring Our World Expands Student HorizonsStudents will get opportunities to travel to key sites in the US, such as Washington DC, to support their academic and cultural development.

Every year there are also overseas trips that support specific subjects or activities, to destinations such as Peru for a service trip, and Costa Rica for Spanish.
