Visual Arts

All students at AIS, from the Primary through Upper Schools, participate in the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts program. This provides them with an avenue to explore and inquire about the critical issues of the world, and to take action, through artistic expression.

In all the art courses, the emphasis is on nurturing individual expression and acquiring the practical skills to communicate this.

Throughout the Primary Years,  Middle Years, and Diploma Programs, Visual Arts grows more advanced and sophisticated in nature, mirroring the student journey. They engage in the creative cycle - planning, creating, and evaluating art and develop skills that benefit them not only in visual arts, but across other disciplines and throughout their lives.

The visual arts are an integral part of everyday life, permeating all levels of human creativity, expression, communication and understanding.
