Financial Aid

AIS is committed to providing financial assistance to admit and retain qualified students as our budgets allow. In the 2025-26 school year we provided over $4 million in financial assistance to our families.

The application process for admission to AIS is independent of the application process for financial aid.

Financial aid is based on documented financial need. We partner with Clarity in our financial aid application process. Clarity provides analysis which generates an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) that is a critical component of AIS’ financial aid decision. AIS uses the EFC as a baseline; however, AIS must take into consideration the total financial aid budget and the school’s policies and priorities. Therefore, the financial aid awarded to a family may not meet the demonstrated need documented by Clarity.

All financial aid applications are subject to verification, and should discrepancies be discovered in the information provided to the Financial Aid Committee, we reserve the right to withdraw financial assistance at any time during the school year.

Helpful Financial Aid Information

Financial Aid is a self-managed process. It is parents’ responsibility to keep track of the financial aid application from the beginning to the end and to adhere to the deadlines. AIS does not collect the required tax documents. Clarity will require parents to provide authorization for Clarity to receive transcripts directly from the IRS for the prior tax year.

There is a new process in place with Clarity this year that parents create (or access an existing) account with the IRS to authorize the transcripts being sent to Clarity. Clarity provides information on this process through the webinars and the support team.

Clarity hosts several Application Info Webinars for families. All families who may be applying to AIS are welcome to attend any one of these webinars. During the live session, Clarity will go over some key aspects of the application, things to look out for, materials to gather, how to help, how the tax verification process works, and a robust Q&A. Typically these will run for about 60 minutes but we will remain live longer if there are lots of questions from parents.

Financial Aid Dates & Deadlines 2025-26

October 1, 2025: Families can begin the financial aid application process.

February 15, 2026: Recommended deadline for families to be ready to complete the Clarity application and upload all supporting documents.

March 1, 2026: Completed application and copy of all supporting documents due in Clarity. All completed applications must be visible to AIS. Allow 48 hours for Clarity to process your documents.

April 4, 2026: Decisions on awards emailed to families.

New and renewal applications completed after March 1, 2026, will not be considered in the April 4 awards and must go through the appeals process. Appeals are only considered as long as funds remain available.

Financial Aid Application Requirements 2025 - 2026

Submit an online application here.
Upload copies of any 2025 W2s and/or 1099s, as well as all other supporting documents by March 1. The 2024 Federal IRS Form 1040 with all supporting schedules will be directly submitted by the IRS after a signed waiver is received from the family.
Upload two recent months of bank statements for all checking and savings accounts for the household.
Upload copies of your most recent non-retirement Investment Account statements.
If Medical/Dental/Unusual Expenses are indicated on the application, supporting documents must be uploaded.
Shareholders, investors or partners with 20% or more ownership in a business entity must submit copies of their Forms 1120S and/or Form 1065 with all Schedule K-1s by May 1st.
An official Tuition Statement with proof of payment must be submitted for children in other tuition-charging schools.
IRS Form 1098-T must be submitted if Higher Education expenses have been incurred.

Atlanta International School participates in the Georgia Tax Credit Program GOAL and eligible students who receive a financial aid award may be asked to submit information in order to submit a student to receive a GA Tax Credit Program GOAL Scholarship. Parents should be aware that this GA scholarship is part of the total award that is granted to a student.

Admission applicants may want to research the Georgia Promise Scholarship Program. Certain school districts may be eligible.

Note: In the case of separation or divorce, EACH PARENT must submit a PFS and supporting documents. In the case of unmarried parents, any parent or partner with custody or regular visitation must submit tax documents.
