Steps to Apply
Early Learning Center
The Early Learning Center (ELC), offers a full language immersion preschool program (in Chinese, French, German or Spanish) for children ages 3 - 4.
The process for applying to the ELC is the same for local and international applicants.
Age Requirements

3K: The cutoff for admission is August 31 (by which all applicants have to turn three years of age. If your child does not meet this requirement, please apply for the following school year.)

4K: The cutoff for admission is September 1 (by which all applicants have to turn four years of age. If your child does not meet this requirement, please apply for the following school year.)

Step 1: Submit Inquiry and Create a Veracross Account
- Submit an Inquiry. Within 24 hours from submission you will receive an automated email prompting you to create an account on the AIS Admission Portal. If you do not receive this email within 24 hours, please contact your Enrollment Manager for help.
- Create your account on the AIS Admissions Portal.
- Begin your Application!
Step 2: Request Required Documents from Child's Current School
All required documents are listed as you move through the Application process.
Login to your Admissions Portal account and delegate the appropriate teacher evaluation forms to your child’s current school.
- Please print the Transcript Release Form and take it directly to your child’s current school. The teacher will then send your child’s transcripts from this school year and last directly to AIS.
Step 3: Schedule a Visit
There are many ways to engage with Atlanta International School and our community, including during the admission season. We encourage you to participate in a tour, Information Session or Open House. This admissions season we are offering a combination of virtual and in-person events.
Applicant Screening Days are a required part of the application process for all grade levels. We hold in-person screenings for local applicants during the regular admission session - zoom for out-of-state/international families.
Dates for all events can be found Tours & Events. All events and screening days can be scheduled in advance via your Admissions Portal.
Step 4: Notification of Admission Decision
All families will be notified of their admission decision, and financial aid award if applicable, on April 5 2025 through your Admissions Portal.
Step 5: Applicant Response
Primary School
In the Primary School (5K - Grade 5), offers a partial language immersion primary program (in Chinese, French, German or Spanish) for all students. Please inquire with the Admissions team about space availability as well as academic and language prerequisites. Read more about the Primary School Language Offerings.
The process for applying to the primary school is the same for local and international applicants.

Step 5: Applicant Response
Secondary School
In our Secondary School we prepare day and boarding students to lead as caring, contributing members of our global society. Secondary School is Middle School (Grades 6 - 8) and Upper School (Grades 9 -12).
Student Visas
I-20 forms are only issued to applicants who have been accepted and have already completed the enrollment process. The future student then presents the I-20 form to their consulate in order to obtain student status. In the event that the consulate does not grant a student visa, only enrollment fees will be refunded.
All students under a student visa must live with a relative or guardian.

Step 4: Schedule Testing
For Secondary School applicants, the SAT or other standardized tests from the past academic year are welcome, but not required. We welcome SSAT results for native English speakers and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) if you are a non-native English speaker as part of a student's secondary application, but they are not required.

Year-round Admissions
AIS considers applications for any available spaces all year round (rolling admissions), particularly as we welcome students from outside of the United States. Please contact the relevant Enrollment Manager for more information about the availability of places within each grade.
AIS Admissions Portal
AIS uses an Admissions Portal to manage all applications. Once you have submitted an initial inquiry, you will be sent a link to set up an account on the myAIS Admissions Portal. This is where you will complete your application and upload all the necessary documentation.

There are no events to display
