International Baccalaureate (IB)

The goal of the IB is to develop students who will build a better world through intercultural understanding and respect.

AIS is one of the few schools in the United States offering the full International Baccalaureate continuum for students in grades 3K – 12. At AIS, collaborating across cultures and languages is a way of life.
Known for its academic rigor and highly respected among colleges and universities across the United States and abroad, the comprehensive International Baccalaureate curriculum is comprised of the Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program and Diploma Program.
Each program builds upon the other, culminating in inquisitive, knowledgeable and caring young people who are motivated to succeed and make a difference in the world.
As part of the International Baccalaureate, teachers are facilitators of learning who engage with and encourage students to question, to reflect and to take action on their learning—with a focus on service to others.
