The Heritage Language Program is an after-school program with the purpose to build a close relationship between culture, identity, and language proficiency for students who already have a connection with one of the heritage languages offered. Language classes are taught by an experienced-native speaker and cover listening, speaking, reading and writing skills according to each student’s level. In addition to the practice of regular languages skills, part of the class is dedicated to a STEAM-based curriculum which involves hands-on activities such as science, drama and art.
Languages Offered:The 2022-23 program offers: Portuguese, Korean, Hindi, Arabic, Dutch, Greek and Kiswahili from 3:00pm - 4:30pm on the AIS school campus. Qualifications: The course is open to AIS students and non-AIS families, from Kindergarten to grade 5, who have at least basic comprehension and communication skills in their heritage language. Interested non-AIS students should contact the Heritage Language Coordinator.
