Beyond the Classroom

Bringing Learning to Life Beyond the Classroom

At Atlanta International School, we continually ask ourselves, “How do we best prepare our students for the world outside of AIS?” For us, the answer lies not only in our formal International Baccalaureate framework, but also in the numerous learning opportunities we offer outside of the classroom.

In addition to internships that many students complete as part of a STEM or STEAM Diploma Endorsement, students participate in many other activities, including Global and Experiential Learning, Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and After School Activities.

Student Leadership

At AIS, student leadership allows students to express their unique talents and gifts—and there’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to how students can lead. Whether they direct a CAS group, serve as their grade’s representative or read the morning announcements, students become agents of change and active participants in advancing the school’s mission or tackling issues (both local and global) they care deeply about.
