Lykins leads AIS volleyball squad

Atlanta International School volleyball coach Gregg Albright has seen a great deal of improvement from his young squad in his first season on the sidelines at AIS. And with much of his production coming from sophomores and juniors, it has been senior outside hitter Whitney Lykins who has led the charge for AIS (8-3).

"Whitney is our team leader on and off the court," said Albright. "I would describe her as the glue of this team."

Lykins said she feels a sense of responsibility to be a leader, especially considering she is one of the few seniors on the team.

"I guess I just sort of took over that leadership role this year," said Lykins.

Lykins, who leads AIS in kills, said Albright has made a world of difference for the AIS volleyball program.

"He's made the biggest difference for all of us," said Lykins. "This is the first year we've really had this type of team chemistry. It's really exciting."
