Kallem Brooks might be 9,300 miles from his hometown of Queensland, Australia, but he hasn't seemed to notice.
The Atlanta International senior, who transferred to the school in September of this year, is averaging 28 points a game and is feeling right at home.
His most impressive performance to date might have come in their only loss of the season when he scored 32 points against powerhouse Southwest Atlanta Christian.
"He is a very experienced player for 17 years old," said AIS head coach Clifford Waddy. "Not only can he create his own shot, but he opens things up for his teammates."
In a win over W.D. Mohammed early this season, Brooks netted 32 points once again. "That was a big victory for our school and for our team," said Waddy.
Brooks, who said he likes to model his game after Mike Bibby of the Sacramento Kings, said he moved to the state in order to get more exposure from colleges.
