Heading into Monday's region track meet, Atlanta International School sophomore Cassie Huntley appeared to be in good shape to qualify for the high jump in just her first year of jumping.

In addition to being a part of the Eagles track and field team, Huntley also is a midfielder/forward for the soccer team, which also appeared to have a chance to a qualify for the state tournament late last week.

Heading into the region meet, Huntley's, an native of England, highest jump had been five feet.

"I feel pretty good about making it in the high jump," said Huntley prior to the meet. "Everybody has told me I can probably make it through if I jump five feet."

AIS head track and field coach Hal Fairbanks said that if Huntley, a native of England, dedicated herself to just track she would be capable of breaking the school record of five-feet-three-inches in the high jump.
