Parent Organization

Letter from Chi Colberg, PO President

To our community of families at Atlanta International School, I would like to welcome you, on behalf of the Atlanta International School Parent Organization (AISPO), to our 2007-2008 school year. If you are like me, you are probably wondering where the summer has gone.

As president of the AISPO this year, I am both honored and excited to be a part of this vibrant and diverse community. I look forward to a year that builds upon the great successes of our school as we-as parents-help AIS continue to live its mission and values; to support our faculty and staff; and to help make progress its priority. Through the AISPO, we will encourage and support the involvement of all parents in the life of the school through many different activities where parents can share their experiences, knowledge and talents to help create a more enriching environment for our children.

As a parent at AIS, you will find a multitude of opportunities to participate in our community throughout the year. We have a tremendous team of volunteer parents who will be responsible for activities and events around school as well as in your child's classroom or grade level. Attached you will find a list of these activities and events. We invite you to jump right in! There is no better way to get to know our faculty and staff as well as our diverse base of families and see the big picture that is AIS.

To kick off our new school year, the Parent Organization will sponsor events for families to get to know one another. You will also find parent volunteers during orientations and AISPO meetings ready to answer questions, provide direction, or just say hello.

One of the most important goals of our organization is for all families to be informed about and made to feel welcome in our community. We have regularly-scheduled meetings-open to all. Please check the AIS calendar (available online at www.aischool.org) as well as other official school publications and e-mails for details on all of the events throughout the year.

I look forward to a busy and fulfilling year and welcome all questions, comments, and ideas.

Warm Regards,

Chi C. Colberg
