Dear Parents,
Starting on August 30 we are offering Primary Athletics Program to students in Grades 1 through 5. For the duration of this program, children will have the opportunity to participate in sporting activities on a more informal basis than in PE lessons. The emphasis will primarily be on having fun through active participation which all children are encouraged to take part in. The purpose of these activities will be as follows:
- To increase the physical activity time for children in order to improve their fitness levels.
- To offer our students the chance to develop the skills they learned in PE lessons.
To have the children participate in new activities that they may have not experience during curriculum time.
First session = SOCCER
Start date: August 30 - End date: October 29

Students will practice from 2:50 p.m. until 3:40 p.m. A coach will pick up the students from the primary building at 2:50 p.m. and walk them to the gym. The parents may pick their children up at 3:40 p.m. in the SAC. If not, the coach will then walk the students to Kaleidoscope after practice. Please complete the Primary Athletics Program Registration Form if you wish for your child to be involved in the program. This form should be returned to Primary PE teachers by August 25th.
Please be mindful that:
- Children should give priority to any previous commitments they may have in school (Homework help, choir, etc).
- Your child will need the following things on the day of their Activities:
- AIS PE uniform
- A drink and a snack
- When Primary Athletics Program finishes at 3.40 p.m., parents will be required to pick up their children in the Primary Gym. Please make every effort to be on time. At 3:50 p.m. the children who have not been picked up will be walked to Kaleidoscope (After School Care). Please be aware that Kaleidoscope requires a payment.
Given the increasing demand for Primary Athletics we will be expanding the program and implementing a charge next school year.
