WorldFest 2009
Thank You!
A big THANK YOU from the Worldfest committee for all who helped make Worldfest 2009 a huge success! We were blessed with beautiful weather and good attendance. Thanks to all the volunteers, from the set up to clean up, and everything in between. Thanks to all those who prepared and served wonderful food, those who entertained and those who ran games and crafts. The whole spirit of the event was amazing and you should all be very proud.
Congratulations to the 4K Class
Congratulations goes out to the 4K class and
their parents. They were the largest volunteer grade for this year
Worldfest. The 4K children celebrated with a popsicle party on Monday,
November 9.

Atlanta International School's annual Fall Festival took place on Sunday, October 25, 2009 on the school campus. This delightful, community wide event, celebrated the rich cultures and diversity of our student population.
Participants enjoyed visiting six continents and at least 25 countries in our "World Showcase" theme, highlighting many of AIS's special qualities. Featured were the wonderful flavors of the Taste of Nations -- where everything from delicacies to full meals were prepared with care by natives of those countries -- and games and crafts, representative of our children's diverse cultures. The entertainment was equally exciting including everything from Middle Eastern dancing, piano duets, and Capoeria Brazilian group dances to performances from our school music and theater departments!
Children were delighted with having a passport stamped in each destination and perhaps getting their names written in several different languages! Or perhaps a visit to the Country Fair area, where they played traditional carnival games or participated in an old-fashioned cake walk.
Our goal is to create a unique and fun Sunday afternoon experience for families to enjoy and relax, while at the same time, learning something about the world we in which we live and creating closer bonds as a community. Please consider attending this special event next year.
