Students in Grade 5 through 12 continued the AIS tradition of finding the deeper meaning behind Thanksgiving. The advisory groups spent time putting together and decorating Thanksgiving baskets which they filled with food for the families being adopted by AIS for the holiday. Each basket contained a turkey and a foil baking pan, plus other food, treats, notes of good wishes, and decorations. After a short assembly in which Mrs. Ferko spoke about how and why the tradition started at AIS, the AIS chorus sang a Swahili song about gratitude for our blessings. The tenth-grade students helped to carry the baskets to be loaded on the truck, and Willie Wilmont delivered the baskets to the families being adopted through the Fulton County Department of Family and Children's Services, which helps match AIS with those in need.

Meanwhile, parents helped to serve a delicious Thanksgiving feast to Primary School students in the Auditorium to get them in the spirit for the holiday weekend.
