Parents and students really heard the jungle call this year at the wildly successful AIS Reading Rainforest Book Fair on October 24-26. The library saw a huge jump in scholastic "greenery" as a record number of explorers flocked to the adventure.

We would like to offer special thanks to our King of the Jungle, Dr. Brindley, who helped run the rainforest during the Amazon Adventure Evening on Wednesday night.

We would also like to say "Thanks a bunch" to:

  • The AIS teachers for being a big part of the swing of things and keeping the kids all abuzz;
  • Our exceptional parent volunteers for tireless hours and vines, vines, vines.... Thanks for leafing!
  • Gregg Albright for hours of brainstorming and vine-making between volleyball tournaments;
  • Sarah Shepherd for keeping order in the jungle;
  • Norma Alhadeff, our field photographer, and Erica Endicott for their help with publicity;
  • Jean Millkey for hacking a path to her office every morning and giving our best Tarzan call to faculty and staff;
  • Willie Wilmont and the maintenance staff for coming through on the many jungle maintenance requests;
  • AIS students for dragging their parents into the lair... again and again;
  • Our fabulous librarians and co-chairs for creating jungle fever;
  • Our loyal shoppers and classroom gift-givers for going bananas!
