Author, Illustrator Visit Primary School Spanish Students

The Spanish track students in Grades 4K through 5 enjoyed a visit from a writer, an illustrator and two others who came to talk about their work. Nadeen Green is the author of "Let There Be Dragons" and Rodrigo Tobar de la Fuente, from Chile, is the illustrator. Rodrigo’s wife, Vanenka Mosqueira Aguilar, read the story in Spanish to the children. The fourth visitor in the group was Patricia L. Sullivan, who works for the International Fund for Economic Development. Some of the money from sales of the book goes to an organization in Peru that helps to clean the rivers around the towns.

After the presentation, fifth graders wrote notes to the presenters while the 5K students drew their own pictures of the dragon. ***The 5K dragon drawings can be seen in the online Globetrotter*******.

Sr. Rodrigo Tobar,

The author and the illustrator donated a signed copy of the book to AIS, which is now available in the library.
