Varsity Soccer Team Finishes Second!

The boy’s Varsity soccer team placed second in the GHSA Fall Soccer League. This is their best finish ever since placing third two years ago. The hard work and dedication to the season has really paid off.

The team went into the game with a big overtime semi-final win over Galloway. This exciting game was played before a large and enthusiastic home crowd. This game and a record of 8-3-3, set the stage for the final.

The championship game was played against Pace Academy on their home turf. The beginning of the game did not go well as the Eagles quickly went down 3-0. The game evened up after that, but the great play of our team just could not make up the difference. Although the final score was 4-2 for Pace, the team feels that it has made tremendous progress for next year. Our goal now is to win the title and bring home Varsity Soccer’s first championship!

Quick Fall Notes

The JV Soccer team finished 2nd in the Fall League.

Cheo Sanchez, Grade 11, placed 3rd in Region Cross Country and 6th at the State meet. This is the highest place in school history.

The MS A-Team Soccer team won its first round play-off game and played well in the second round in a loss to Lakeview.

The JV Volleyball Team finished with a winning record (6-4) for the first time ever.

Winter Sports Preview

The basketball teams are ready to start action this season. Watch out for the Varsity Boys this year: four years of hard work are about to pay off. Look for the first winning season in six years. The Varsity Girls are young, but enthusiastic. The JV Boys and Girls teams will rise up this year with more experience and skill. There is a new 9th Grade Boys team this year that promises to be an exciting bunch.

All six of the Middle School teams look for success and hope for winning records this season. Forty-five girls and 40 boys are on the teams.

The Competitive Swim Club is on its way to be a fine addition to the winter program. Thirty Middle School and Upper School students are participating. They practice twice a week and look forward to their first competition.
