WorldFest: Food, Fun, Family
Sunday, Oct. 30, Noon to 5 p.m.: Everyone welcome!
Taste of Nations
AIS parents and children create national dishes from over 50 countries for WorldFest’s Taste of Nations, Atlanta’s most global culinary experience. The International Bake Sale offers sweet treats from around the world. You name it, we’ve got it with samplings from around the globe. This year, food vendors will compete for the 2nd Annual “Best Table Decorations by Country” award. Also this year, guests will be entertained under the outdoor pavilion while enjoying their selection of foods.
World Class Entertainment
Rock out under the pavilion with DJ Tom Vilardi and performances by AIS’s Choir and Theater groups, the Atlanta Ballet Dance Center, ConunDRUM, Lykion Ton Ellinidon Greek dancers, Indian and Flamenco dance troupes, Chinese classical music, Mercedes Pratt, St. Philip’s Ensemble, Hal Fairbanks’ Band, Ryan Hendricks’ Quartet, FUGATAR and demonstrations by Chinese Kung Fu and Imperatori Karate.
2nd Annual WorldFest T-shirt Sale
Show your support of WorldFest with the purchase of the winning t-shirt design. Adult and youth sizes are available in a selection of t-shirts that include women’s cut, short sleeve and long sleeve. T-shirts are $10 for short sleeve and $12 for long sleeve. Your favorite hawkers will begin selling t-shirts during afternoon carpool beginning Monday, Oct. 17. Congratulations to this year’s t-shirt design winner, Alexandra Zdonczyk, Grade 5 Spanish. A special thank you goes to our t-shirt sponsor, Russell Corporation.
Carnival Games
Twice the fun: enjoy the Bungee Jump and the Rock Wall, plus giant slides, moon bounces, Jolly Junction tot cars and other spectacular new carnival games. In addition to our traditional carnival area, the Middle School will offer an X-TREME skateboard park. Don’t forget your skateboards and helmets!
International Marketplace
Items from International Marketplace vendors and exhibitors will be showcased under the Marketplace tent. Jewelry, books, clothing and more are some of the items featured. Come prepared to take home a few great treasures!
Awesome Arts and Crafts and Beauty Center
Good old fashioned arts and crafts include decorating a candy apple, creating spin art, designing your own cookie and much more. New this year! Check out the Beauty Center featuring mini makeovers by AIS parent and Mary Kay rep Johanna MacMaster, fun hair colors and do’s by Snip-Its and creative nails by Glamour Nails. Face painting by Doodles the Clown and Maron the Face Painter will also be available.
