BPA Caribbean Relief Project
Greetings everyone, I hope this issue of the Globetrotter finds you well and prosperous. Unfortunately, due to recent hurricane activity our Caribbean neighbors in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas and other small islands are likely not faring as well. Because AIS is an international community where our children are taught to think globally, which includes assisting those in need around the world, the BPA is asking for your assistance to support relief efforts to these devastated islands.
Beginning October 1 and continuing through October 29, the BPA is collecting items in designated bins located throughout the school campus. These items will be sent directly by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Association) to various islands in the Caribbean. Please involve your children in gathering the items listed below while explaining to them the importance of helping our island neighbors and their children who are not as fortunate as we.
The following are needed: Bottled water, canned goods, manual can openers, plastic utensils, baby food and formula, first aid kits, plastic storage containers that seal, toiletries for men and women, flashlights/batteries, clean towels, blankets/pillows, and clothes/shoes.
We thank you in advance and express sincere appreciation for your collective support of this worthwhile relief effort from our school community.
