AIS Teachers, Staff Practice What They Preach

On their first day back at school after the summer break, teachers and staff members took a break from the usual round of meetings and classroom preparation to give back to the community in the same way our students are expected to do.

AIS partnered with Hands On Atlanta to provide the project locations and options for the AIS teachers and staff. Groups were sent out to do practical work for senior citizens, art projects with school children, grounds work at a local park, meal preparation for housebound people with long-term illness, and more. It was a chance to get out of everyday life and participate in the lives of others.

AIS Headmaster Dr. Robert Brindley said, "As members of a global community, we have great respect for others. We’re committed to mutual understanding through purposeful efforts –- touching real lives. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about each other and the fantastic City of Atlanta where we live and work."
