Meet the New Board Members

Atlanta International School is delighted to welcome six new accomplished and talented members to the Board of Trustees.

Norman Bellingham is the senior vice president of strategic planning for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.) He works closely with Time Warner and its divisions on matters of strategic direction involving TBS. Previously, Norm was a member of the executive committee of the U.S. Olympic Committee, leading program initiatives for the Atlanta and Salt Lake City Olympic Games. He was a member of the U.S. Olympic Sprint Kayaking Teams in 1984, 1988 and 1992, earning a gold medal in the Seoul games of 1988.

Marc Fleury is the founder, Chairman and CEO of JBoss, Inc., a global leader in open source middleware. Previously, Marc worked for Sun Microsystems and was also a former lieutenant in the French paratroopers. He has a Ph.D. in theoretical physics for work done at MIT's Research Lab of Electronics, a Master's of theoretical physics and a Bachelor's in mathematics.

Crissy Klaus is a Georgia native who has had successful careers in both marketing and sales. After the birth of her two sons, she started a real estate investment company, and has become deeply involved with charitable work. She has chaired and hosted numerous events for organizations such as Make-a-Wish Foundation and Children's Healthcare, and serves on the board of the Ferst Center for Performing Arts and as a member of the Foundation Board of Children's Healthcare.

W.E. (Chris) Lowe is President, Food Service & Hospitality Division for Coca-Cola North America. In his 15-year career at The Coca-Cola Company, Chris has held a variety of marketing and operating positions. Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Chris was a partner in the consulting firm Marketing Corporation of America, during which time he consulted to Fortune 500 companies in the packaged goods arena.

John Valeri is vice-president of corporate international human resources for UPS. He began his UPS career in 1978, and was based in Hong Kong for two years as HR director of North Asia. He spent a year as the South Asia district HR director in Singapore, moving on to promotions to vice president of Asia Pacific HR and then vice president of Europe Region HR. He assumed his current position in 2001. John is a member of the Conference Board's International Advisory Committee and the Centers for Disease Control's Corporate Roundtable on Global Health Threats. His wife, Kim, is the current President of the Parent Organization.

Andrew Whitney was born in Boston and raised in Argentina. After graduating in history from Trinity College, he returned to Argentina to work in his family's insurance company until its sale in 1992. After three years working for an English reinsurance broker, Andrew returned to Massachusetts to get his MBA, following that by managing and placing insurance programs for the international operations of large U.S. clients. He moved to Atlanta in late 2001 to create a partnership doing consulting work for Latin American insurance companies. In 2003 he began his own business, a wine importing company called Big Vintage Imports.
