Welcome from the Parent Organization
Just a quick note to welcome you (or welcome you back) to the AIS family! If you’re a new or Buddy family, I hope you had the chance to attend the wonderful Buddy Dinner in August; many thanks to Natalie Huyghe, Ellen Dotts and their team for mounting a very special evening. I also want to acknowledge the thoughtful, creative, and very fun Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon held in June and hosted by Amigos under the leadership of Begoña Cintrón and Helen Shayne.
The Parent Organization (PO) has several great activities coming up in September, including:
- PO Council meeting (open to all parents) at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13
- Family Picnic and Faculty/Staff vs. Parents soccer championship at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 17
- Headmaster’s Forum at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28. (NOTE: Changed date! Moved from October 4)
We also encourage your continued support of the Sally Foster fundraiser, the primary funding source for the PO’s activities throughout the year.
Finally, there will be many opportunities to volunteer your time and energy on campus this year, including hospitality events, the library, the front desk, and the soon-to-open “Welcome Café” in the Sports & Activities Center.
