What is “Circle of Friends”?
“Circle of Friends” is our annual giving program encompassing all donors to the school. When you join the Circle of Friends, you provide much-needed resources to help all of our students. Within the Circle is “The 1984 Club,” our leadership giving society.
How does my child benefit when we donate money to AIS?
Donations through “Circle of Friends” support the people and programs that make AIS special – teacher training, technology upgrades, financial aid scholarship, and improvements to the classrooms and facilities. All of this translates to more intellectual stimulation for your child today, and greater credibility behind the academic credentials your child will possess throughout life.
Is the concept of giving unique to AIS?
No. Independent schools in the United States have always relied upon the generosity of their constituents to enhance their students’ educational experiences. The U.S. government does not provide subsidies to independent schools.
How much of a difference can my gift really make?
AIS has many fewer supporters than a university or large charity does. Because the number who will give to AIS is small but the need is large, every gift counts! It also takes a lot of money to affect a huge organization, but even small gifts have a big impact at AIS. For these reasons, many families choose to make their children’s school their top giving priority. They know their gifts truly matter at AIS.
Are there more reasons to give?
Yes, many people take pride in the recognition that comes with being listed among AIS’s supporters. Others enjoy being involved in fundraising activities because they enjoy the camaraderie and friendship of community efforts. In addition, foundations strongly consider the percentage of parents who give when determining whether to support our school. And unlike tuition payments, gifts to our school are tax deductible.
If children are the ultimate gift, then a donation to support their education is the ultimate gift to give!
