German Students Go to Berlin
On April 16, the German students went to Berlin. The flight took us about eight to nine hours from Atlanta to Frankfurt and then one hour from Frankfurt to Berlin.
We arrived on Tuesday, April 17, and we drove to the "Fuchsbau," the place that we stayed at for 10 days. The "Fuchsbau" was a very nice place to stay at. But then came the food, which wasn’t that great for me. The food was not as good as the food at home. However, we ate lots of good and delicious German food when we were at restaurants on our field trips.
We saw a lot of things in Berlin. My favorite day was the day that we went to the theater in the morning and in the afternoon we did a boat tour on the river Spree. After that came the Kicker and the bungee jumping. In the Kicker you would have a pole and then there are loops where you put your hand through, then that pole would move. You would have to try to keep your hands in the loops and no one was allowed to use their hands. At the end we tied 3 to 3. In bungee jumping some people went twice and I went twice. It was a great experience to be in the air.
In Berlin, close to where we lived, we had a very cool playground and on that playground were swings and a tower made out of lots of ropes that you could climb on. That tower looked like the Eiffel Tower. On that playground was a cool swing that swings from side to side and you had to stand on it to swing.
When we went on our field trips we went to lots of museums. Some of my favorite museums were the Anne Frank Museum and the Story of Berlin. In the Story of Berlin the thing that I like was that it not only talked about World War II but also about early days in Berlin. The other field trips were also very interesting.
I thought it was very nice of the school to let us go on this trip. I thank the teachers and the headmaster for making this field trip possible. We had lots of fun in Berlin and brought lots of cool stuff for our parents and siblings. I hope I can go there again with my family. It was the best field trip ever!
