Adios for Now, Amigos!
As the school year comes to an end, we are happy to say that it has been one of great accomplishments. Through the work of many parents, we have been able to further support our children in their learning of Spanish at AIS. For this we say muchas gracias.
We are currently involved in coordinating the Faculty/Staff Appreciation Luncheon this year on behalf of the entire Parent Organization (please read the article below that explains in detail).
On Saturday, June 4, our AIS Auditorium came to life with the sights and sounds of Flamenco dancing. Featured at this event were our very own students (4K through Grade 3) who have been taking lessons after school for almost a year. Also at this event were performers from all over the Atlanta area, giving everyone at AIS an opportunity to experience the elegance and passion of the Flamenco moves. At the forefront of the event was our very own Flamenco teacher, Julie Galle-Baggenstoss, who is extraordinary at teaching the children all they need to know about the dance and the culture Flamenco represents. Julie has also fully supported our association’s efforts by donating 10% of the enrollment fees, which we plan on using to support the Spanish department in their needs for materials in the 2005-2006 school year. Muchas gracias.
Mark your calendars for Monday, August 22 at 8:30 a.m. when Amigos will host our annual Welcome coffee. Please invite anyone who you know who might be interested. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other families in the Spanish track or those who have an interest in learning our language. We look forward to seeing all of you there. Hasta Pronto!
