Students Speak Out for PeaceStudents in the Primary and Middle Schools recently participated in the Inspirational Messages of Peace Contest organized by the International World Peace Rose Gardens, an organization committed to promoting world peace. Out of 125 entries, Dr. Brindley selected ten winning poems from which the contest organizers chose three final winners from AIS. Congratulations to James Shepherd, Caroline Hutchison and Matei Dan whose entries were selected by International World Peace Rose Gardens judges. The students’ poems will be engraved on plaques and displayed in the World Peace Rose Garden at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site for one year. All participants will be recognized at awards presentations at the school in early May, and some of the students who wrote the ten winning poems will also be reading them at a ceremony at the World Peace Rose Gardens on May 8.
