Summer Reading Makes all the Difference, For Your Student and For the Library
Before you head off to the beach, make sure you pack your student's required books—just because it's vacation doesn't mean the learning stops! All students have required reading during the summer; their teachers will give them the information soon. Then stop by our book fairs, where you can gather up all their literary necessities (lawn chair and sunglasses not included).
Foreign Language Book Fair Mark your calendars for the foreign language summer reading book fair to be held this year in the old gym on Thursday, May 10 and Friday, May 11 from 2–5 p.m., and Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
There will be French, Spanish and German books for 4K through Grade 11. The books are also available online from World of Reading at www.wor.com. AIS will receive a percentage of all sales at the book fair and from www.wor.com. Don't miss it!
English Summer Reading Book Fair
Please take time to buy your English summer reading books for school and vacation at the AIS Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Book Fair on May 22, 23 and 24 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in The Peach Shopping Center at 2900 Peachtree Road. You can visit the AIS table at Barnes & Noble with your child between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. to purchase English summer reading for the entire family. Members of the AIS library staff will be there to assist you from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Barnes & Noble staff will be happy to assist you during the book fair, as well as during their regular business hours.
The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Book Fair is a fundraiser for the library and raised several thousand dollars last spring to expand its collections. If you present an AIS voucher (printed here) at the time of purchase, Barnes & Noble will donate a portion of the purchase price to the school for our library collections. Most items in the store, including books, music and DVDs, will count toward the sales total. So please use this as an opportunity to purchase summer reading material, music and movies for the whole family!
Vouchers also will be available at the library and the school offices. Please note that vouchers can be used any time between May 19 and May 25, so if you miss the book fair, you can still support the school library by making purchases with the voucher any time during that week. Please do not forget to present an AIS voucher at the register when you purchase your books.
