Grade 2 Students Go Green
The Grade 2 students celebrated Earth Day to coincide with their unit of inquiry "It's Not Easy Being Green." They worked on creating posters with the theme "What Kids Can Do to Save the Earth" and walked around at lunchtime to showcase their work. Their focus is on air pollution, water pollution, too much garbage, the greenhouse effect, the ozone layer depletion, and disappearing animals. After their parade, the students donned plastic gloves and AIS Litter Patrol badges and went around the campus, armed with trash bags, to pick up litter. Any recyclable items they picked up were recycled.
