Dia del Idioma

The Spanish Department held their annual celebration of the Spanish language during the Dia del Idioma around the end of April. Among the activities were displays of Flamenco dancing by young Primary School students who are learning this stimulating dance under the guidance of Ms. Julie Baggenstoss. Dr. Hawley was happy to introduce a new crop of PS students to the amazing storytelling skills of author Carmen Deedy. Ms. Deedy, whose two daughters graduated from AIS a few years ago, was a familiar face around campus so it was good to welcome her back for an interactive story session revolving around the adventures of Martina Josefina Catalina Cucaracha.
