Around Atlanta
On Friday, May 20, Around Atlanta will take our final trip of the school year to Bulloch Hall in Roswell. Built in 1840 by one of the earliest settlers of Roswell, this Greek Revival mansion is an architectural gem, and also boasts dozens of trees on the Historic Tree Register.
An early inhabitant of the house, Mittie Bulloch, returned to the house for her 1853 wedding, and her son, American President Theodore Roosevelt, visited years later. Her other son became the father-in-law of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
As usual, we will meet by the AIS main entrance after morning car pool (8:20-8:30 a.m.), have coffee together, and carpool to Bulloch Hall. The cost for our 10 a.m. guided tour will be $8 per person.
RSVP to Laurie Martin at woodrowway@yahoo.com.
