AIS Tennis Competes In Its Inaugural Season

The AIS junior varsity tennis team played its first match of the season against Providence just before spring break. Although we left the match with ideas for improvement, the results of the match were hopeful for our young team.

The boys team did very well, with James Ratchford, Alejandro Garcia, and Ian Hill handily winning all three of the singles matches. The doubles matches were very close matches and the doubles team hold a lot of promise. Anusha Sthanunathan lead the girls team with an 8-5 win at the one singles position. Other matches were extremely close, decided by a mere two game margin.

The remainder of the season looks promising as we are progressing into a fine team. Doubles practices will focus on communication and teamwork. Hard work and dedication is sure to guarantee great success for our team in the near future.

JV Tennis Shows Promise as Season Progresses

The Junior Varsity Tennis Team played its first match of the season against Providence just before spring break. Although we left the match with much to improve on as a team, the results of the match were hopeful for our young team. The boys’ team did very well winning all three of the singles matches. The doubles matches were very close matches and could have been easily won with greater communication and teamwork between the doubles pairs. This will be one of our central focuses for improvement as the season progresses. The girls’ team was not as successful as the boys’ team, winning only one of its five matches; however, some matches were extremely close, decided by a mere two-game margin. The remainder of the season looks promising as we are progressing into a fine team. Our constant hard work and dedication is sure to guarantee great success for our team in the near future.
