NATO Officer Addresses Upper School Students

Lieutenant Commander Tania Price from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) visited AIS twice toward the end of February as part of NATO’s outreach efforts. During the first session, Commander Price discussed the reason for NATO’s formation, and then its gradual evolution after the end of the Cold War into more of a global peacekeeping role. Her second visit allowed Grade 11 TOK students and Grade 12 History students to ask questions about the 26 countries that make up NATO and how they train countries to deal with the increasing threat of terrorism in the world.
