Mark these dates! The AIS English Summer Reading Book Fair will be held May 17, 18 and 19 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the Peach Shopping Center at 2900 Peachtree Road.
The English Summer Reading Book Fair is an annual fundraiser for the library and last spring raised over $2,000 to expand library collections. If a voucher form is presented at the time of purchase, Barnes & Noble will donate a portion of the purchase price to the school for our library collections. Most items in the store, including books, music and DVDs, will count toward the sales total. Look for more information and voucher forms to follow in the May Globetrotter.
World of Reading will also sell books in other languages on Friday, May 6 from 2 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the auditorium. They will have the French and Spanish required and optional books for next year’s 5K – Grade 5, as well as French, Spanish and German required and optional books for next year’s Grades 6-11 and English required books for Grades 6-10. There will also be dictionaries and reference books in all three languages. A percentage of the sales will benefit AIS. Last year, the language departments received a total of $794 for materials and it is hoped they will earn more this year with greater participation.
