Student Artwork Selected for Atlanta Dogwood FestivalThis year, the Dogwood Art Reach competition received 235 entries from schools across Atlanta. The works of AIS students Jenna Sanborn, a senior, and Alia Reid and Alex Bartsch, juniors, were among the 92 selected. Alia Reid received an 11th place award for her life-size parcel tape sculpture. Her work has been on display at the Art Institute of Atlanta and will be displayed at an evening reception at SCAD Atlanta on March 6. Art Reach is a highly competitive, juried exhibition that draws entries from high school art students in grades 9 through 12, from 14 regional Atlanta counties. The artworks can be in any media and are judged on the criteria of originality, creativity and good craftsmanship. Art Reach works will be on display in the Art Reach exhibit tent at the Atlanta Dogwood festival at Lenox Square, April 4 to 6.
