Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team Members Recognized for Special Honors

The girls’ varsity basketball team completed a wonderful season with a 15-10 record overall and an 8-3 regional standing, losing in the first round of region tournament. They finished in third place overall in region. Three girls were recognized within the region for special honors: Madison Scott was elected to First All-Region Team, Lucy Pettitt-Schieber to the Second All-Region Team and Ana De Olana to the Honorable-Mention All-Region Team. Madison Scott was ranked in the top 10 in the state of Georgia for rebounding and in the top 25 players for scoring. She also was ranked in the Top 100 in the nation for rebounding. Claire Giblin and Michaela Gordon were recognized for their free throw accuracy, hitting 72% and 61% respectively. Coach Inca Harvey was pleased with the season. “Overall, each one of the young ladies contributed to the success of this team and season. The seniors will truly be missed. I also appreciate the sincere spirit, laughter, and support of all the parents.”
