Summer Camp Now Open for Registration

Kids and counselor have fun at last summer's Spanish camp

The bleak days of January make it tempting to turn our thoughts toward summer camp. We are thrilled to offer fantastic adventures all summer long here at AIS. Numerous options are on offer, ranging from returning favorites to new activities; check them out at www.aischool.org/camps.

Kaleidoscope is our all-day camp for students aged 4 to 12, with extended hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s sure to be fun-filled and action-packed every day and is available from June 11 through to July 27.

Kicking off the summer is our annual volleyball camp, ideal for the volleyball star in your family. This one-week, all-day session is perfect for rising 5th through 12th graders who want to improve their game.

Week two brings our robotics camp, where children master skills in programming and engineering as they create their own robot and program it through various obstacles.

Our popular language camps in Chinese, English as a second language (ESL), French, German and Spanish are a highlight of the summer. Campers are immersed in the language and culture for a two-week or three-week session. They spend all day developing their second language skills in a variety of ways to ensure improvement, understanding and fun. Our language camps draw students from all over the metro area for a richly-diversified group.

We are excited to offer USA Chess Camp again this summer the week of June 25-29. For more information and registration, please log on to www.usachess.com.

New this year are Tae Kwon Do and Camp Stardust. Tae Kwon Do is a three-week camp being offered by Master Pius, a 7th degree black belt, five-time national champion and eight-time world champion. This camp is available in half-day sessions with morning sessions for ages 5–7 and afternoon sessions for ages 8–10.

Camp Stardust is a musical theatre camp designed for budding stars who love to sing, dance and, above all, perform! In addition to building strong musical theatre skills with our professional instructors, the students’ coordination, stage presence and rehearsal techniques will be enhanced as well. The fun music, drama, choreography and props classes culminate in a performance for family and friends.

Our summer enrichment classes are back for students in Grades 5 through 12 in math and English for a three- or two-week half-day session starting July 9.

It will be hard to find more varied offerings under one roof this summer, so sign up early to be sure of getting a space. All camp information and registration is available on the AIS website at www.aischool.org/camps. If you have any questions about our summer camp program, please call Amy Medford at 404-841-3868 or e-mail her at amedford@aischool.org. We can’t wait to see you this summer!
