Middle School Lego Robotics Team Competes in First Lego League Competition

The Middle School Lego Robotics team competed in the First Lego League competition in December 2007. Our main programmers and builders were Boris Dehem and Brice Williams, who have both had experience with Lego NXT Mindstorm robots. Alex Richards, Lydia Katrin and Keanu Mitanga were our other team members, who focused on the presentation that has to accompany the robot. As a group, we had decided to call our robot “The Scorpion” because it looks like it has claws! Our presentation focused on conserving energy, giving examples of how people waste and preserve our energy resources. Though we did not get through to the next round, for our first attempt in the competition we were very proud of ourselves and had a lot of fun.
