AIS Helps Nicaraguan Community

For two days over a weekend in October 2007, AIS provided the facilities for six officials from the Nicaraguan Consulate in Miami, Florida, to deliver consular services to the Nicaraguan community. The Mobile Consulate provided more than 300 Nicaraguan nationals from Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas with the opportunity to renew passports, obtain birth certificates for their children, and tend to other official matters.

5K Celebration

Students in 5K celebrated each other’s holidays and learned all about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Christmas in early December through various classroom activities.

St. Nikolaus Visit

St. Nikolaus visited Primary School students in the German program on December 6, 2007. He began his visit by asking the children what they knew about different religions in the world and by recounting his own background and history. When he asked the children about their good deeds during the year, the discussion centered around the group’s recycling efforts during the year and the need to protect our natural resources. St. Nicholas and the children also talked about their other accomplishments throughout the year as well as potential areas of improvement. At the end of the visit, St. Nicholas presented each child with a gift.
