Recycling Contest for Secondary School
During the weeks starting January 9 through 31, there will be a recycling "contest" to increase awareness of our recycling program within the Secondary School.
Students will bring plastic bottles, used cartridges and used cell phones for, respectively, one, two and three points to their advisory group where they will be deposited in a bag or box.
Each week will have a special incentive:
Week 1: The advisory with the most plastic bottles will win a 10 point bonus.
Week 2: The advisory with the most cartridges will win a 10 point bonus.
Week 3: The advisory with the most cell phones will win a 10 point bonus.
The advisory with the most points at the end of the program will win a pizza and soda party.
We will send the used cartridges and cell phones to a recycling facility and give the money we collect to Heifer International, an organization dedicated to fighting world hunger and promoting sustainable agriculture while being respectful of the environment.
Advisors will be involved in this prcess as they will ensure the gathering of the items.
