Parent Programs

You are invited to a lecture on Raising Resilient Children: Fostering Strength, Hope, and Optimism in Your Child, presented by Dr. Robert Brooks, at The Westminster Schools, 1424 W. Paces Ferry Road, on Thursday, January 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the McCain Chapel, Pressly Hall.

Robert Brooks, Ph.D., co-author of "Raising Resilient Children," is a nationally renowned speaker and author. This book presents today’s parents with wise advice on "fostering strength, hope, and optimism" in their children. A leading speaker on self-esteem, motivation, and family relationships, Dr. Brooks draws on his affiliation with both Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital in Boston for real-life anecdotes about how well-intended parents often undermine their children’s capacity for resilience. Copies of "Raising Resilient Children" will be available for sale and signing at a reception following the talk.

This program is presented free of charge by a collaboration among eleven Atlanta area independent schools, including AIS.
