5K Students Help Refugee Children
Students in 5K were glad to have an opportunity to show generosity this holiday season. As part of the action component for the “Let’s celebrate our diversity” unit of inquiry, students learned to recognize the importance of the act of giving in order to benefit those in need. The students each brought in a variety of items such as backpacks, school supplies and warm clothing to donate to the Refugee Resettlement and Immigration Services of Atlanta. The organization’s representative, former AIS student Melissa Mann, was delighted to receive the contributions on their behalf.
