Becoming a Love & Logic Parent

The AIS Parent Organization presents a Love & Logic parenting seminar with Sara Chambless, starting in February. What is Love & Logic? Becoming a Love & Logic Parent is an in-depth multi-media program, which promotes the idea that love allows children to grow through their mistakes and logic allows them to learn from the consequences of their choices. Thousands of parents have discovered that children and teens respond to the Love & Logic process by becoming increasingly responsible, respectful, and fun to be around. The Love & Logic program has been tremendously successful with some of our partner schools in North Atlanta. Sara Chambless has varied background in teaching and facilitating classes for adolescents and adults, acting, directing, and writing. She is currently writing and producing her own poetry and plays. She holds a BA from Agnes Scott College in philosophy and an M.Ed. from the University of Houston in curriculum and instruction.

How Does it Work?

AIS parents meet for seven two-hour sessions to discuss a broad range of topics related to parenting. The sessions are conducted by a trained facilitator who uses video modules, discussion, role-play and lecture to present the Love & Logic technique. Parents are encouraged to contact one another outside class to gain support in practicing their new skills. Teamwork, community building, and improved parenting skills are the goals of this program.
