4K Sponsors Book Drive
What we are doing: As a class, we wanted to collect items to donate to help children during the holidays. Our initial thought was to collect toys after the holidays to donate to the children living in a shelter environment at the Atlanta Union Mission. However, after talking with staff there , they expressed a real need for books for the children. What better way to help spread a love of learning than to collect books for these children? We hope you will join us in this endeavor. Over the holidays, please set aside any duplicate books your children may have or receive, gently used books that your children have outgrown, or even purchase a new book that you see on a post-holiday sale.
What: Drop off new or gently used books to be given to the children living at “My Sister’s House,” the women and children’s shelter of the Atlanta Union Mission.
When: January 18-21, 2005
Where: We will collect the books at the morning carpool line, or you may send them in with your children to be collected in bins located throughout the buildings.
If you would like to volunteer to assist with book collection, please contact Jennifer Oswald at 770-612-0031 or jioswald@aol.com. Thank you!
